Here are our tips to prepare your skin for a tan and keep it as long as possible.
Preparing your skin for tanning
Preparing your skin for the sun must be done a few weeks before the first exposures.
1. First, moisturize your skin.
We can never say it enough; we must moisturize our skin. Because hydrated skin is healthy skin.
2. Secondly, scrub your skin once a week.
Scrubbing removes dead skin, and therefore your tan will last longer.
3. Expose yourself gradually.
To tan safely and keep your tan, it is better to expose yourself in small moments but regularly, rather than for hours but only once.
Protect your skin for a good tan
Ideally, you should avoid exposing yourself between noon and 4 pm since this can quickly become dangerous for your skin. If you can not resist the call of the sun, it is essential to protect your skin properly.
Do not neglect the sun protection creams and adapt them according to your exposure to the sun. Sunscreen will never stop you from tanning.
The right routines to adopt:
- Apply your sunscreen 20 minutes before your exposure.
- Renew your sunscreen every 2 hours.
- If your protection is not waterproof, put it back after each bathing.
Keep your tan longer
Following prolonged sun exposure, the skin may be burning or irritated, so it is important to nourish your skin properly after exposure to the sun. Good nutrition of your skin will help rebuild the skin barrier and prolong your tan.
